Laura McNeal: Hello. My name is Laura Rotin McNeal. McNeal is my married name, but I was born a Rotin. When I was growing up, I moved a lot so I often had to teach people how to say my last name. Rahotin, Rotan, people would say, but worse still, it seemed like every time I moved to a new school, the teacher who introduced me would look at the name on the page and say, "Class, please welcome Laura Rotten." While Rotten wasn't an easy nickname to have in high school, I have to say I was pretty happy to fall in love with a man named McNeal.
