It's Chinese, and in China, where my parents are from, the villages that you live in are according to your name. So I would've been from the Yee village, because you were to look in the Yee village, you wouldn't find me there as Yee is not my real last name, and it actually should be Wong, which appears as my first name on my birth certificate. But that's another story.
