Lynn Rowe Reed: Hello. My name is Lynn Rowe Reed. Rowe rhymes with cow, although people usually pronounce it Row. I have to admit that I often say it that way myself since it's the more traditional pronunciation. Plus, pronouncing my name my own way makes me feel like a bit of a rebel. My maiden name is Lynn Rowe. As a kid, I always disliked my name because it is so short, two whole syllables. How unfair. All of the other kids seemed to have at least three or four. Boring. As an adult, I added my married name and kept my maiden name in the middle to give it a little length, but I still feel a little shortchanged by having just three syllables to complete all three of my names. Of course if you want to say my name with a good southern drawl, I won't mind. That would make the pronunciation last at least an extra second or two.
