E.L. Konigsburg: Hello, my name is E.L. Konigsburg. The pronunciation of my last name is very much the way it's spelled, K-O-N-I-G-S-B-U-R-G. It is not mispronounced as often as it is misspelled. There was probably an umlaut over the O sometime long ago, when the name was given to my father-in-law.

The E in my name is for Elaine.
The L is for Lobl, which was my maiden name. Lobl is spelled L-O-B-L. I always say that I traded in a short, difficult name for a long, difficult name when I married David Konigsburg.

I want to tell you, thank you for your interest in me, and my name, and my books.
I love writing books for children. Thank you. Bye bye.
