Norma Charles: Hello, my name is Norma Charles. When I was a kid, it was Norma May Finnegan. Such a long name, so many syllables. The Norma is from my dad, whose name was Norman. May is from the month I was born. And Finnegan is from my great-grandfather who immigrated to Canada from Ireland around 1850. When I grew up, I dropped the May, and when I got married, Finnegan became Charles. So now my name is nice and short, Norma Charles.
