Elaine Dimopoulos: Hello, my name is Elaine Dimopoulos. I am Greek-American. And my name in Greek is Eleni Dimopoulos, but like so many names of people of my generation, it has been Anglicized. My first name Elaine or Eleni means shining light, which I've always liked. And my last name, Dimopoulos, simply means son of Deimos and its Opolis suffix shows that my ancestors come from the Peloponnese or lower region of Greece. So, unless we're in Greece, please call me Elaine Dimopoulos.
