Cedar Pruitt: Hi, my name is Cedar Pruitt. My last name Pruitt is Welsh or maybe Irish or maybe English. We've lost track. But it means brave little one, and I like that. My first name is just like the tree or the wood, Cedar. My parents were hippies in the 1970s and they wanted a different kind of name, one where you couldn't tell if it belonged to a boy or girl and you didn't have any expectations about what it meant or stood for. It still surprises people to this day, and I've always liked it.
