Suzanne Osman: My name is Suzanne Osman, and no, my grandfather is not the founder of the Ottoman Empire. When I was teaching middle school English, the kids were learning about the Empire in their history class, and they burst into the room one day and asked, "Did your father found the Ottoman Empire?" It was hilarious. Of course, they have no sense of time. They also asked if I had voted for Lincoln in the presidential election. Also, my last name is not Osmond, as people sometimes think when I was growing up. People would call our house constantly asking if Donny or Marie Osmond was there. The brother-sister singing duo of the 1970s. Nope, I am just Suzanne Osman.
