Adam Silvera: Hi, my name is Adam Silvera. I love my last name Silvera, because it's so unique. I often will tell people Silvera is just silver with an A at the end. And that makes it really easy to spell out. And my first name was originally supposed to be Alexander, which I sometimes still mourn because there were just so many more nickname opportunities for Alexander than there are for Adam. I've had a couple friends call me A, which feels fine, and if not a tad unoriginal or unspecial. And I've had a couple friends call me Ad, which I've grown to like, but Alexander just offers so much more. You get Al, you get Alex, you get Xander, you get Xan. So I'll probably be naming a kid, Alexander, but I love the name Adam because I got it from my uncle who was alive at the time, but his since passed. And he always wanted to name a son of his Adam, but he never got any sons. So my mom named me Adam, so that we would have that name in the family like my uncle always wanted.
