Erica B. Marcus: Hello, my name is Erica B. Marcus. One story of my name I like to share is that I kept my family name, Marcus, through marriage and passed it on to my two daughters. My husband and I decided it wasn't particularly fair or necessary that my family name automatically be bumped into oblivion; while I deeply value my marriage, as an educator I prefer Ms. Marcus to Mrs., so as not to lead with my marriage as my identity.
