Chloe Gong: Hello, my name is Chloe Gong and it is pronounced exactly as you would probably see it as -- KLO-ee and then GONG. Chloe Gong is actually the second name I was given. At birth, I was given a different name. I was given a Chinese name because I was born in Shanghai. And then when I was two, my parents immigrated with me to New Zealand, and then they gave me the name Chloe as well, on top of everything.

And I guess the funniest story about it is that it is currently spelled C-H-L-O-E, as the general name is usually spelled. But my dad told me quite recently that when they were spelling it on my official kindergarten records, because there aren't any legal documents that say Chloe Gong because it's my second name, but when he was putting it on the kindergarten records, he spelled it C-H-O-L-E, which is not correct. And, thankfully, the only reason why it's properly spelled now was because a kind kindergarten teacher saw that and quietly changed the L and the O together. So now Chloe has the correct spelling.

But the most funny part is throughout my entire life at like Starbucks or like school exercises, people will just accidentally misspell it C-H-O-L-E
for no reason. And I wonder if it's just something set in the universe when my dad did it, right? So officially it's C-H-L-O-E, but who knows? Maybe in some other universe that keeps bleeding over my name is actually like Chole.
