Elisa Sabatinelli: Hello, my name is Elisa Sabatinelli. I was named Elisa, the same as my maternal grandmother. Even if at the beginning, the first choice was Ellia, because my mother is Spanish, but in Italian, it's a boy's name. So, in the end, my parents decided on a more common name, such as Elisa. Same pronunciation in Spanish as in Italian. When I did my studies in Barcelona, my mother's hometown, Sabatinelli, has a funny sound, really similar to the word sabatilles, that means slippers in Catalan. So, for a long time, my nickname was sabatilles. Maybe it's for that reason that I always work barefoot at home.
