Marie-Therese Miller: Hello. My name is Marie-Therese Miller. For years, my parents had trouble with infertility. My mom was a devout Catholic, so she prayed for a baby to St. Mary and St. Thérèse of Lisieux, also known as the little flower.

After sixteen years, I was born, and my mother gave me a hyphenated name to thank these saints.
Marie is French for Mary followed by Therese. Not surprisingly, my young cousins had trouble pronouncing this mouthful of a name. So I became Teri spelled T-E-R-I to all my family and friends.

When I began writing, I decided to use my given name to honor my parents.
But if you see me out and about and want my attention, call, "Teri!" so I'll be sure to answer.
