Arnée Flores: Hello. My name Arnée Flores. Arnée is not the name I was born with. It was given to me after I was adopted. My new father was Norwegian and he had a very Norwegian name, Arne, spelled with just one E. I was named after him by adding another E and topping it with a French accent called an aigu. Growing up, the accent was my favorite part of my name. It was the difference between Arne and the Arnée. I hated being called Arne and the other children knew it and teased me. As a grownup, people sometimes still call me Arne. Although it doesn't bother me as much as it once did, I appreciate it when people take the time to pronounce my name properly. And when they take special care to put the accent over the E, it feels just like being hugged.
