Ruby Yayra Goka: Hello, my name is Ruby Yayra Goka. I think Ruby and Goka are quite easy to pronounce. Most people have a harder time pronouncing my middle name, Yayra. Most people say YAH-RAH or YAH-YAH or YAH-EE-RAH, but it's YA-EYE-RAH. Yayra in Ewe, the Ghanaian tribe I come from, means blessings. Yayra in Twi, which is another Ghanaian tribe, means we are lost. As a child, I got teased about that a lot. Most people were always making fun of my name and saying, "You and who are lost?" But then I do hope I've lived up to the Ewe meaning of my name. I hope my books have blessed people. Thank you.
