Seamus Kirst: Hi, my name is Seamus Kirst. Seamus is spelled S-E-A-M-U-S, which can definitely be confusing for people. Sometimes it looks like it might be pronounced sea-mus. And the story of my name is it is Gaelic for James. When my parents knew that I was going to be born soon, they decided they were going to name me James, which is the name of both of my grandparents. And about a month before I was born, my cousin was born and he was named James. So my parents had to scramble last minute. So they wound up choosing the Gaelic version of James, which is Seamus, because my great-grandparents were from Scotland.
