Tamora Pierce: Hello, my name is Tamora Pierce. Tamora pronounced like camera. My name was originally supposed to be Tamara, the Russian name, but the nurse who made my name out on the birth certificate in a very small town in Southwestern Pennsylvania in 1954 had never heard of such a strange name, so she misspelled it T-A-M-O-R-A but it's not pronounced Tamora, it's pronounced Tamora.
