Kirsty Murray: Hello. My name is Kirsty Murray. When I was born, my name was Kirstin Boyd, but there were three reasons why I wanted to publish my books under the name Kirsty Murray. Firstly, I have three children who are Murrays, and when I started writing, I wanted my books to connect to their lives. Secondly, Kirsty Murray seemed like a friendlier name than Kirstin Boyd, and it was easier to find in the bookshop, as B books are often on the top shelf, while M are comfortably in the middle, where any kid can find them. Lastly, I like the meaning of the name Murray. It means people of the sea, and in Australia, there's a famous river called Murray, so I think the name has a nice flow to it.
