Jacqueline Davies: Hi, this is Jacqueline Davies. My last name, Davies, is Welsh. It's a very unusual name here in the United States, and in fact, it's often misspelled and mispronounced. People tend to leave off the "ee" and think my last name is Davis.

But in Wales, Davies is one of the most common surnames, so having a name like Davies in Wales would be like having a last name of Smith of Jones here in the United States. My first name, Jacqueline, has to do with the year I was born. I was born in 1962, at a time when our president was John F. Kennedy, and his wife, the first lady, was Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy. Like many people in the country, my mother was enchanted by Jacqueline Kennedy because of her style, her grace, her intelligence, her culture. Everything my mother, a first generation American, admired.

And so, she named me Jacqueline.
