Jenny Manzer: Hello. My name is Jenny Manzer. I've always really liked my name. My full name is Jennifer, and the story of my name is that my parents had a whole bunch of names planned for me, and as it turned out, I arrived in the world almost three months early, which back then was very serious, and I ended up spending the first part of my life in the hospital in Toronto as a preterm baby, and my parents decided that all the names they had lined up for me were too long for such a small baby, so for some reason they settled on Jennifer, which is a fairly long name, so perhaps that didn't make a lot of sense. But over the years it got shortened to Jenny, and that's the name that I've chosen to use for my publishing.

One thing I like about being Jenny Manzer is that there aren't that many other Jenny Manzers in the world. For a time there was a teen soccer star in Germany named Jenny Manzer, and there's a lawyer somewhere in Georgia. But other than that, there are that many other Jenny Manzers. So there's really not that much I have to live up to. When I grew up there were also many, many Jennys, so I got to be Jenny-1 or Jenny-2 or Jenny-3. But as I've gotten older that sort of faded away. It's not that popular a name anymore, I think, though I know lots and lots of Jennifers who are writers, and I think that being a Jennifer has brought me some luck because I've met so many other wonderful Jennifers who have books out right now and wonderful books and they're wonderful authors.
