Madeleine Kuderick: Hi. My name is Madeline Kuderick. My first name, Madeline, is French name and it goes back many generations in my family because my grandmother was originally from Quebec. Now, Quebec is not to be confused with Paris where there's an old house that's covered with vines and 12 little girls in two straight lines that leave the house at half past nine and the smallest one is Madeline. That's not me. That's a picture book character and Madeline is frequently how my name is mispronounced. But in fact, it should really be pronounced Madeline. My last name, Kuderick, is my married name. It's an Americanized version of Czechoslovakian name, which is where my husband's family is originally from. It also is mispronounced a number of wild ways from Kuderrick to Kudrick and host of varieties that we've heard. But in fact, it really should be pronounced with three syllables and the oo sound like Kuderick. So all together, Madeline Kuderick, is how you pronounce the name and there you have it.
