Stephanie R. Pearmain: Hello. My name is Stephanie Pearmain, and when I sign books or anything else that requires my signature, I always include my middle initial R, which stands for Renee. My last name is very easy to say, but I think it's mispronounced because it is similar to other more common names, but it is pronounced just like it looks, Pearmain. It is very unusual and I'm told that anyone with the name Pearmain is related to me in some way. The name Pearmain has two possible sources. The first, from England, is that it was the name given to people whose occupation was to grow or sell pears. The second, where mine came from, originated in Normandy, France. My family left France and went to England, when the spelling might have changed, and then the US. I'm the fourth generation of Pearmains in the United States.
