Rachel Hartman: Hello, my name is Rachel Hartman. That is a disappointingly easy to pronounce name, I'm afraid. Hartman is German, but I'm not particularly German. My German ancestors came to the U. S. during the American Revolution. They were Hessians fighting alongside the British, and when the British lost, well, they decided to stay.
