Chris Crowe: Hello, my name is Chris Crowe. The name is pronounced CROH, like the black bird, crow, but is spelled C-R-O-W-E. I'm not sure why the E is on there. My father used to pass on all kinds of stories that it was some distinction between northern and southern Ireland. It may be an English influence. I don't know.
Some people pronounce it CRAU. In our family, it's always been CROH, like the black bird, Chris Crowe.
