Stasia Ward Kehoe: Hello, my name is Stasia Ward Kehoe. My middle name is actually my maiden name because when I was born, my parents could not agree on a name for me. My mother floated some favorite names from literature, and my father had fond recollections of favorite old aunts with very stodgy, New England names and in the end, after much heated debate, they decided to just skip my middle name. So I grew up Stasia Ward with no middle name, which was always a bit confusing when I had to fill out forms for standardized tests and SATs and applications for things. However, when I got married it was kind of fun, because I was able to just keep my maiden and make it my legal middle name, and I use it on my books because I'm rather fond of my parents and grateful to them for having me, so I like to see that maiden name on the cover of my books.
