Jane Kohuth: Hello, my name is Jane Kohuth. Kohuth has two long vowel sounds, KO-huth . The accent is on the KO. This has been a hard name for many people to pronounce because it is unfamiliar. There are a few Kohuths in the United States, according to Google, but not many.

I am probably the only Jane Kohuth in the world.
Kohuth is a Hungarian name and comes from the 1/8th of my family that is not Jewish. It belonged to my great-grandfather, Laszlo Kohuth, who came to America around 1909.

I did not always love the name Jane but I do now as it has such a wonderful literary history.
I am married but I have kept the name I was born with. It's the name I imaged would be on my books when I was growing up, and now it is.
