Kathryn Miller Haines: Hello, my name is Kathryn Miller Haines. That's Haines pronounced, just like the underwear, but spelled slightly differently, which means neither me nor anyone in my family will be inheriting the vast wealth accumulated by the tighty whitey empire. My mom named me Kathryn in honor of her favorite actress, Katharine Hepburn, whose movies inspired me to write about the 1940s. Miller was my maiden name, which I decided to adopt as my middle name to honor my parents. I must confess, though, I was relieved to become a Haines because everywhere I've worked, there's always been another Kathryn Miller to confuse me with. I have yet, however, to meet another Kathryn Miller Haynes.
