R.L. Stine: Hi. This is R. L. Stine. Kids always ask me "What does R. L. stand for?" And when I tell them the answer, I think they're always disappointed. R. L. stands for my name, Robert Lawrence. But I think kids expect something really scary, and Robert Lawrence is a pretty boring name.
And then I always have to tell them that no one in the real world ever called me R. L. in my life. It's only on the books.
