Julie Sternberg: Hi, my name is Julie Sternberg. My parents named me Julie, not Julia or Juliette or Juliana. And I was always a little disappointed by that, I wanted something more musical. But I was stuck with Julie until one year after college, I spent a year in Israel and I realized Hebrew names as well. My parents had given me the name Yehudich Yael, and I never really like Yehudich personally, but I thought, oh, I can go with Yael. Yael is pretty. But then an Israeli told me that Yael meant, in English, mountain goat ascending to God. And at the time I didn't really want to be known as a mountain goat ascending to God in this country where everyone knew both Hebrew and English, so I stuck with Julie. And I still think Yael is very beautiful, but I'm Julie to this day.
