Willow Dawson: My name is Willow Dawson, and I'm an illustrator and author. When I married, I decided to keep my last name in honor of my dad, who is also an artist and my best friend. Besides art, my father and I also share a love of flight, particularly airplanes and crows. The daw, or jackdaw, is a kind of blackbird in Western Europe, where our ancestors are from, so the last name Dawson means "son of the blackbird."
