Mariko Tamaki: Hello, my name is Mariko Tamaki. That's Mariko with an o at the end and Tamaki with an i at the end. Mariko and Tamaki are both Japanese names. Mariko is actually my middle name. When I started off in this world, my name was Karen Mariko Tamaki, but I always thought Mariko sounded cooler, so I decided to change it to that when I went to university. Mariko means "shiny bouncing ball", and Tamaki, according to my grandpa, means "where the treasure is". So I'm a shiny bouncing ball where the treasure is, which is kind of cool, I think.
