Barbara Lehman: Hello, my name is Barbara Lehman. Lehman spelled L-E-H-M-A-N is one of those names that can cause some confusion because people with the same name with the same spelling can pronounce it either "Lay-man" or "Lee-man" depending on the particular person. I come from a family that pronounced it "Lay-man" and that's how I say it. I've joked that I'm changing it to Layperson, which I realize could be a way for people to remember that I pronounce this name "Lay-man." The name Barbara means stranger or foreigner and it does come from the same root as the word barbarian, and maybe because I'm sort of a quiet bookworm, I've always found that very amusing.
