Arnolda Bowes: Hi, my name is Arnolda Dufour Bowes. It is a name that is never pronounced correctly. In fact, when I order coffee or when I'm at a clothing store and they ask for my name at the change room, I always answer Molly because that's the name that will not be misspelled or mispronounced. The origin of my name is from my dad, Arnold. The story goes that my parents tried for many years to become pregnant, and finally they prayed at a local shine to be blessed with the child. Lo and behold, six months later, my mom, Louise, was pregnant with me. So to honor their marriage and love for one another, I was named Arnolda Louise. My first name is simply Arnold with an A at the end. And all I can say about my name is I equivalate it to Johnny Cash's song, A Boy Named Sue. It was not easy to grow up with this name as a young girl, but I believe these names both helped define my nature. As my dad always told me his name, Arnold meant the strength of an eagle, and when we looked up Louise, it meant warrior.
