Kiah Thomas: Hi, my name is Kiah Thomas. My name is Kiah, and I had a complicated relationship with my name when I was growing up. When I was in elementary school, there was someone else in my class whose name was spelt the exact same way, but her name was pronounced Kiah. And so I went through a bit of a period where I wished that was how you pronounced my name as well. And I wondered whether you could just do that, whether you could just change the way that your name is pronounced when you were eight. But then as time went on in my early years of high school, there was an ad on TV in Australia that went, Kia. And so for about three years I would walk around and that's how everybody would greet me. And so for that period in my life, I didn't love my name, but I've come back around to it.
