David Bouchard: Hello. My name is David Bouchard. I am a French Canadian Métis. And we pronounce it Métis. We are the only mixed-blood people in the world who have our own flag, our own language, and are considered by every level of government in Canada as being a nation. Years ago when I was a teacher in Lahr, West Germany, I was playing hockey against our high school hockey team. I was given a penalty shot in the last minute of the game. I went down and I geeked the goalie to the left and to the right, and I had an open net. I tripped and fell. By the time I got back to the staff room, all the teachers began to say, "Boo, Bouchard." So, when you think of my name don't pronounce it boo-SHARD, but it's David BOO-shard.
