Cindy Johnson: Hi, my name is Cindy Chambers Johnson. Cindy was such a popular name when I was a kid that there was always another Cindy in my class. To keep us straight, I was either called Cindy C for Chambers, my last name before I got married, or Cindy Jo, my middle name. I didn't always like having such a common name, but something really good came out of it because when I was in second grade, I had to move to a new school. There was another Cindy in my class, and since our names were the same, my teacher, Mrs. Allen, asked the other Cindy if she would show me around and help me get settled that first day. Well, she did, and that's how Cindy Ann became my best friend. The reason I use Cindy Chambers Johnson for my books is that Johnson is also a really common name, and there are a lot of other authors named Cindy Johnson. When my first book was published, I decided to include the Chambers so I wouldn't get mixed up with all those other Cindy Johnsons.
