Jenny Hubbard: Hey there. My name is Jenny Hubbard, Jenny, as in a female mule, and Hubbard, as in Old Mother Hubbard who went to the cupboard to give her poor dog a bone. I was actually born a Jennifer, but, in fifth grade, my teacher, Mrs. Jussin, started calling me Jenny, and I adored Mrs. Jussin. The whole class did, and, soon everyone was calling me Jenny. Mrs. Jussin didn't blink when I wore my Little House on the Prairie dresses to school, when I carried my lunch in a tin pail, just as Laura Ingalls did. Mrs. Jussin encouraged the life of the imagination. She told me I had what it took to be a successful writer, and because I loved her, I believed her.
