Kind words can be contagious. That's what happened the day Cassandra told her teacher, Ms. Sutton-Jones, she liked her big, glittery buttons. It made Ms. Sutton-Jones feel so good that she praised the custodian, who turned around and complimented the second-grade teacher.

Pretty soon the second grade is having snack time early, a young boy is teaching his little brother a song, and his family is laughing and snuggling to together. It all comes full circle when Cassandra's dad brings home a kitten for his daughter.
